What is Provitalize

A thermogenic probiotic for women to help fight the effects of the weight gain and other issues brought on by the menopause

Provitalize is a probiotic supplement for women who are fighting weight gain and other issues related to menopause. In addition to providing “thermogenic probiotics”, Provitalize also has herbs and other natural ingredients. These are included to help the formulation ease hot flashes while also boosting energy levels and preventing weight gain.

This is no run-of-the-mill probiotic supplement. It’s very specialized. Provitalize was created to help ease women through one of the more difficult parts of their lives.

Hot flashes, insomnia, joint pain, fatigue–menopause can present a number of unpleasant problems, and even women who have been thin all of their lives can suddenly find their waistlines start to expand.

If Provitalize can provide the kind of support the manufacturer claims, it has the potential to improve a lot of lives. But how good is Provitalize and does it even work?

This Provitalize review will give you a better idea of what to expect from the product and help you to decide if it’s right for you.

Thermogenic Probiotics mimic the thermogenic effect of exercise by generating heat in the gut to burn fat.

Who Makes Provitalize?

Provitalize is part of a range of products developed and distributed by BetterBodyCo. All the company’s supplements are intended to be used exclusively by women. The BetterBody team claims to be on a mission to “help 100 million women go through the menopause with ease.”

The company also has a product called Previtalize that can be paired with Provitalize and used as a companion product. As the name suggests, Previtalize is designed to boost probiotic bacteria levels by providing prebiotic fiber for the bacteria to feed upon.

Provitalize Benefits

  • A healthier gut
  • Better nutrient absorption
  • Start every day full of energy
  • Ease hot flashes during menopause
  • Boost natural metabolism
  • Weight management and help with cravings
  • Impact fat storage and calorie absorption
  • Sleep better at night

Thermogenic Probiotics do more than just provide support to the gut, immunity and digestive function. They have also been studied to impact fat storage, calorie absorption, & provide support for a prime metabolic state.

How Provitalize Works

Provitalize is a probiotic supplement. It provides live probiotic bacteria.

As you are probably aware, probiotic bacteria is the “good” type of bacteria that lives in the gut. The gut contains less friendly types of bacteria as well and these two opposing forces wage a constant battle deep in our insides.

Probiotic bacteria generally have the upper hand. However, bad diet, disease, and several other factors can disrupt the “gut microbiome”, causing bad bacteria to outnumber the good. When this happens it can interfere with metabolism, cause gut issues, and many other problems that can negatively impact the health.

Probiotic products top-up good bacteria levels. This helps ensure a healthy gut microbiome, resulting in spin-off benefits that may improve overall good health.

There are many strains of probiotic bacteria and each strain offers value in specific areas. Provitalize only contains three strains of thermogenic bacteria.

Increases Thermogenesis

BetterBodyCo states its probiotic trio mimics the thermogenic effects of exercise.

As you may be aware, exercise increases thermogenesis, causing the body to become warmer and lose more energy into the air as heat. Certain probiotic bacteria strains appear to have this ability.

Helps with Cravings

Some probiotic strains may ease food cravings and/or provide other weight-management benefits. However, although science shows these things are true, an in-depth clinical review of human and animal studies points out there remain many questions that need answering, such as correct dosage and the overall value of certain probiotic bacteria strains.

Increases Metabolism

Regardless of the many questions that still require answers, tweaking the gut microbiome in the correct way has the potential to increase metabolism. A faster metabolism burns more calories, so this can benefit people who are trying to lose weight.

Provides Additional Benefits

Boosting probiotic bacteria levels can also improve digestion and overall gut health.

Provitalize is not a normal probiotic though. It’s a hybrid product that provides plant extracts as well. The good news is all of the ingredients have the potential to help Provitalize do the things it’s designed to do.

Provitalize Ingredient Profile

Two capsules per day provide:

  • Probiotic Blend (68.2 Billion (CFU)
  • L. gasseri (SBT 2055)
  • B. breve (IDCC 4401)
  • B. lactis (R101-8)
  • Turmeric Root Extract (350 mg)
  • Moringa Leaf (350 mg)
  • Curry Leaf (150 mg)
  • Lecithin (50 mg)
  • Black Pepper Extract (3 mg)

Ingredient Potential

Probiotic Blend

BetterBodyCo makes some plausible claims for its three chosen probiotic strains. Unfortunately, the company fails to provide any links to the studies it claims to be referencing.

It states L. gasseri is a rare probiotic present in fermented foods and then states a study of 210 people showed the probiotic had an average 8.5% impact on weight after weeks of consuming it. How many weeks? That’s the big question.

It’s hard to consider L. gasseri a rare probiotic because so many probiotic supplements provide it. L. gasseri is actually quite popular.

L. gasseri strain BNR17 may aid weight management but Provitalize provides a different strain (SBT 2055).

BetterBodyCo says B. breve activates genes that support blood sugar levels and impact fat metabolism. The company provides no evidence to support this claim but B. breve is a popular probiotic that fights disease and is good for helping with gastrointestinal disorders.

As for B. lactis, BetterBodyCo refers to it as a “special strain”, but it’s a very commonly used probiotic you can find numerous supplements. It supports good gut health and efficient immune function.

Turmeric Root Extract

Turmeric reduces inflammation, increases antioxidant capacity in the body, and may delay aging. It offers many other health benefits as well.

Most of the health benefits turmeric provides are due to a compound called curcumin. The body does not absorb curcumin well so most of it goes to waste.

However, a black pepper compound called piperine can boost curcumin absorption by 2,000%. The Provitalize formulation provides black pepper extract, so nothing to worry about there.

Moringa Leaf

Moringa Leaves are rich in many vitamins and minerals and boast 15 times more potassium than bananas and 7 times more vitamin C than oranges.

Some studies show insulin-like compounds in the leaves may help lower blood sugar. Extracts from the leaves can be good for reducing pain and swelling caused by rheumatoid arthritis.

Curry Leaf

Curry Leaves (Murraya koenigii) provide antioxidants that fight oxidative stress and help protect the body from disease.

Lecithin is a fat that’s present in many foods. BetterBodyCo is using a form taken from sunflower seeds.

Lecithin is often used as a food additive. It has medicinal value as well and is used as a treatment for various conditions. Examples include eczema, liver disease, high cholesterol, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Black Pepper Extract

Black pepper extract or its key component, piperine, is present in a great many supplement formulations. Its ability to improve the bioavailability of other ingredients makes it the ultimate helper ingredient.

However, it may be a poor addition to a supplement for menopausal women because, like other compounds present in spicy food, piperine can trigger hot flashes.

Correct Dosage and Other Usage Considerations

The dose is two capsules per day. You take them each morning with or without food. For best results, take the capsules immediately after waking.

Known Side Effects

Reports of side effects are few and far between. However, a few women complain of minor stomach disturbances such as indigestion and diarrhea.

Probiotic products occasionally cause side effects of this nature when you begin using them for the first time. Fortunately, such side effects  are generally short-lived and vanish after the body has adapted to the changes in the gut microbiome.

However, if you have any concerns about using this or any other probiotic product, it makes sense to consult a doctor and get some professional advice.

Where to Buy Provitalize

You can buy Provitalize from the manufacturer’s website. It’s sometimes available via Amazon as well but it’s often marked “currently unavailable.”

Each bottle provides a 30-day supply of pills. A the time of this review, Provitalize was retailing at $49 per bottle, but discounts were available to customers ordering two or three bottles at once. The best deal went to people buying three bottles of Provitalize for $109.

Provitalize Review Conclusion

Provitalize is an unusual probiotic product. It’s designed for menopausal women and strongly marketed towards the ones who are struggling with menopausal weight gain.

Many reviews praise the product’s abilities in various areas so it certainly works well for some women. However, reviews also suggest weight management may not be the product’s strongest ability.

Women who are primarily looking for weight loss support are likely to be better off choosing a good fat burner and appetite suppressant. There are even diet pills that tackle the hormonal issues that cause women to gain weight due to menopause.

Having said that, there is no need to fear taking a gamble on this product. BetterBodyCo offers a 90-day money-back guarantee.
