Superbeets is a powdered supplement that is advertised to provide optimum levels of Nitric Oxide (NO). NO is essential for healthy circulation and blood pressure. Find out what else this superfood can do and read customers reviews and feedback.
Some quality ingredients.
Made by a reputable manufacturer.
Some customers say it has boosted NO levels.
Proprietary blend – ingredients true values not established.
Expensive for just effectively an NO booster.
Guarantee is confusing.
The superfood / supergreen space is pretty crowded market. Mass produced products appearing daily.
As a Nitric Oxide booster I wouldn’t suggest against purchasing. I would though suggest another product if you want to get maximum benefit from a supergreen powdered product. The product I suggest is Supergreen Tonik – it contains all natural ingredients without fillers. It also appears to be made with a little bit of love .. find out what I mean by reading the review
What are SuperBeets
SuperBeets is a food supplement manufactured by HumanN. The company is based in Texas and formerly traded under the name Neogenis.
As the name suggests, SuperBeets is a supplement that provides beetroot. It’s a powder-type supplement you mix with water and consume as a drink.
Beetroot is high in nitrates. Some athletes eat beetroot or use beetroot supplements before training because beetroot boosts nitric oxide (NO). Consuming beetroot may also lower blood pressure, improve circulation, and boost energy. Again, this is due to the vegetable’s ability to function as an NO booster.
According to marketing material on the HumanN website, each serving of SuperBeets can provide an NO-boosting effect that’s similar to that of three fresh beetroot.
SuperBeets comes in a choice of two flavors. Strangely enough, neither one is beetroot.
The two flavor options are:
- Black cherry
HumanN assures potential customers its beetroot supplements taste great. Many customers agree. Unfortunately many do not. In fact, as far as the flavour goes, customer opinion is split down the middle. As is often the case with consumable products, it all boils down to a matter of personal taste.
This type of product is pretty special. SuperBeets won’t appeal to all. Most people would rather put their trust in a good supergreens product. However, HumanN has been specializing in developing natural NO boosting products since 1998, albeit under a different name. The company launched its first product (Neo40) in 2011.
SuperBeets: Promised Benefits
- Nitric oxide equivalent of three whole beets
- Suitable for vegans
- Contains high-quality non-GMO beets (grown in the USA)
- Boosts nitric oxide
- Increases energy and stamina
- Supports healthy circulation and blood pressure levels
How Does SuperBeets Work?
Due to its ability to boost NO levels in the way that it does, beetroot can do some interesting things to the body. All of them are due to its ability to provide vasodilation.
Vasodilation is a term that describes a slight relaxing of the blood vessels. When the blood vessels relax in this way, they dilate slightly. This improves circulation. It also lowers blood pressure, thereby taking pressure off the heart.
The improvements in circulation vasodilation provides enable the muscles, heart, brain, and other major organs to benefit from an increased amount of oxygen and nutrients. This can be very invigorating.
All the organs in the body function better under such circumstances. Even the brain.
By boosting NO, SuperBeets may also improve training capabilities.
Hard exercise depletes nitrogen levels and the heart struggles to get enough oxygen to the muscles. This forces the muscle to produce energy without oxygen (anaerobic activity).
The body cannot keep this kind of activity up for long. Lactic acid builds up, the muscles begin to burn and, before too long, it becomes impossible to proceed with the activity/exercise.
When people get out of breath during exercise, it’s because their bodies are increasing respiration in an attempt to get extra oxygen to the muscles. Beetroot and other NO-boosting compounds can increase the supply sufficiently to delay lactic acid build-up. This will, of course, enable people to train longer.
However, delay it is all it will do. Vasodilation only buys athletes a little extra time. Sooner or later it will still become necessary to slow down or stop.
Who is SuperBeets For?
It’s hard to tell what kind of customer HumanN is targeting with this product. It appears to be just aiming for anyone interested in attaining the type of benefits it may provide. It’s marketed as a general health and wellness product.
However, products of this nature are often particularly interesting to bodybuilders and other athletic individuals. Competition is fierce in the sports supplement market though. There are other products that can do similar things. Some of them can do a lot more besides.
It’s possible HumanN has chosen not to go head to head with other NO boosting supplements because it’s easier to target a different market.
What’s the Best Way to Use SuperBeets?
The standard dose is one scoop of SuperBeets per day. Customers who wish to do so can take two servings per day but this will make the product more expensive to use. Using two scoops per day will mean you only get 15 days of use from each tub instead of 30.
Making the beetroot drink is easy. It’s just a case of mixing one teaspoon (5g) of the powder with four ounces of water. Presumably, the drink is stirred, not shaken. If one way of mixing is better than the other, HumanN fails to mention it.
After opening, it’s important to store the container in a cool, dry place. It’s also important to use the contents within 45 days of opening. If you are taking a scoop every day, that shouldn’t be a problem.
However, customer reviews indicate clumping may be a problem with this product so it’s a good idea to store it and use it in the recommended way.
Each 5g serving of SuperBeets provides:
- Non-GMO Beetroot Powder
- Non-GMO Beetroot Powder (fermented)
- Natural Apple Flavor/Cherry Flavor
- Malic Acid
- Magnesium Ascorbate
- Stevia Leaf Extract.
Although there are no inclusion rates available, it’s pretty obvious most of the 5g is going to be beetroot powder. The other additions are just there to provide flavor, prevent clumping (hopefully), and enable easier mixing. Stevia is a low-calorie sweetener. It comes from the plant Stevia rebaudiana.
Apart from being high in nitrates, beetroot is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It contains significant amounts of iron, calcium, magnesium, and dietary. It’s a good source of Vitamin C as well.
The interesting thing here is, we are looking at two different forms of beetroot powder. One is fermented, the other is not. HumanN doesn’t explain the reason for this choice.
However, Fermenting beetroots causes them to become probiotic.
Probiotic products are all the rage these days and can potentially benefit the health in many ways. However, although fermented beetroots are prebiotic, it seems unlikely that the probiotic bacteria in beetroot powder would survive the manufacturing process.
Either way, there are many reasons to get more beetroot into your body.
Are There Any SuperBeets Customer Reviews?
The manufacturer’s site has some SuperBeets reviews. All of them paint the product in a favorable light.
There are some customer reviews on Amazon too. Amazon is a more reliable source of feedback and, when it comes to impressing customers, SuperBeets only has a 50% success rate.
Some of the positive reviews are by people who find SuperBeets is good for lowering their blood pressure. Others are from people praising it as an energy-booster.
Many of the negative reviews are from people complaining about the taste. However, a lot of people are also slamming the product because they feel it let them down as an energy-providing supplement.
Is There a Risk of Side Effects?
Unless you are allergic to beetroot or one of the other ingredients, side effects are highly unlikely. We’re talking about a popular root crop here. If you were allergic to beetroot, you’d probably know already and wouldn’t be researching the credibility of a beetroot supplement like SuperBeets in the first place.
However, many people find beetroot and products that contain it turn their urine pink. Don’t be surprised if this problem occurs. It’s not a side effect. Nor is there any danger involved.
The pink urine some people pass after eating beetroot is due to the presence of a pigment in the beetroot. A minority of individuals are unable to process it and get a pink surprise when they pee.
Despite the benign nature of this product, it may be wise to get medical advice before using it if you are using medication or being treated for any form of health condition. This is especially important if you suffer from abnormal blood pressure or are using medication that may affect blood pressure.
Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding a child are also advised to seek medical advice before using SuperBeets or any other form of health and wellness supplement.
Does SuperBeets Work?
SuperBeets appears to be a quality supplement that provides the body with beetroot. Of course, if you want to get the benefits associated with beetroot, the best thing to do is eat some beetroot. Let’s not forget, all this supplement aims to do is have a nitrogen-boosting effect similar to that of three beetroot.
Many customers say the product is good for lowering blood pressure. That’s not surprising bearing in mind beetroot’s prowess as a vasodilator.
It’s hard to say why some customers find SuperBeets boosts their energy levels while others say it does not. However, if boosting energy is your main aim, beetroot products aren’t really the best option.
The problem with this product is it’s too limited in what it contains and what it can do.
If you want energy, you may be better off with an energy drink. SuperBeets has obvious value as a pre-workout supplement. There can be no doubt about that, but there are legal steroids and other natural supplements that have more to offer.
It also seems likely that some people may be looking at SuperBeets as an alternative to a supergreens product. Again, it’s not going to be the best option. When it comes to promoting health and wellness a good supergreens product has a lot more to offer.
If you have a specific reason for wanting a beetroot supplement, SuperBeets is a good choice though. If you are looking for a way to lower blood pressure naturally, it may be a good choice too but I’d talk with your doctor about it first.
Where to Buy SuperBeets?
You can buy SuperBeets from the manufacturer’s website. It’s also possible to get it via Amazon. Either way, there’s not much difference in price. Expect to pay around $38-$40 per tub.
The big difference between the manufacturer’s site and Amazon is the shipping and handling costs. If you buy SuperBeets via Amazon Prime there are none.
If you buy directly from the HumanN website, the shipping and handling charge is $8.95. However, the charge is waived for customers who order more than one pot of SuperBeets.
The HumanN website also offers an autoship option. It entails a 12% saving but if you buy via autoship, you are agreeing to accept a fresh tub of SuperBeets every month.
Is there a Guarantee?
The SuperBeets gurantee looks good. It lasts for 90 days. Unhappy customers are offered a full refund. It will be less shipping and handling costs but it’s the same with most guarantees.
However, if you buy this product you will need to keep the original packaging and make sure to safeguard the tub and prevent it from becoming damaged in any way. Although HumanN is willing to accept returns of used and unused products, the terms and conditions of the guarantee make it clear returned items must be in good condition and be packed in the original boxes.
Customers who wish to return unwanted products or make a claim under the money-back guarantee need to contact the company first and request a special returns number to write on the outside of the box.
